Mohegan Sun, one of the world's most successful and
largest casino in Connecticut, is raising some eyebrows in the news today.
Many online slots players have enjoyed trips to this well-known Indian tribe
run casino, too.
The Mohegan Sun had announced its plans to change some
6,000 coin operated slot machines that are currently in operation at the
slot casino with slots that do not take coins.
Instead of shimmering coins, the new intended slot
machines will dispense winning tickets. As many in places like Las Vegas
already do. Mohegan company officials were reported as saying that they plan
to recalibrate all of the casino's 6,000 slot machines during the coming
year.
According to gaming industry analysts, the majority of slots players
actually favor coinless slots, as with these more innovative machines, there
are not as many interruptions as with regular slots. In addition, Kent
Young, vice president of marketing for Aristocrat Technologies, reportedly
said that many players no longer wish to deal with the inconvenience of
carrying around a plastic cup for coins.
