Here is just one more reason we love online slots.
Online slots players are happily learning that 33 year-old Richard
Sarvis Jr. has been given his detailed punishment for embezzling money
from slot machines.
The former slot machine technician at Blue Chip
Casino was sentenced Monday to 18 months in the LaPorte County Jail for
embezzling nearly $70,000 from the gambling boat.
Sarvis, of Rolling Prairie, was convicted under a
guilty plea of Class D felony theft in LaPorte Superior Court.
In December 2004, according to court documents, a
manager at the Michigan City casino advised Indiana State Police of
discrepancies in two slot machines found during an audit.
Casino records showed that 150 pay-out slips good
for $147,995 were issued by the two machines, and 54 of the tickets had
been redeemed for $49,761.
Attorney David Newman, of South Bend, said his
client used a security chip obtained through his employment that allowed
the slot machines to produce the payment vouchers.
While this story is sad, many online slots and
online slots players are just happt that this doesn't happen online.
