Online slots players and casino gamblers who keep up on
the latest online slots news will be interested to know this. In New Mexico,
the state Court of Appeals has announced that the slot machines taken into
custody by the state that were found in a home near the city of
Alamogordo, were in no way used for any type of illegal gambling.
A panel of 3 judges determined that the slot machines are not actual
gaming machines or gambling devices according to New Mexico law.
This all started almost 6 years ago when the state Gaming Control Board took
ten slot machines from the home of three people that bought the slots from a
Nevada licensed distributor back in 1997.
After all these years (talk about an inconvenience to the owners), the board
lost its battle to permanently take the machines away from the owners. The
judges determined that the board's contention that the machines were
unlicensed gaming devices under the law. Not so say the judges., they
believe the slot machines are not mandated by the
Gaming Control
Act.
Only the owners of the slots and their friends played the machines and no
money ever changed hands. See what happens when you can't play online slots.
